The Deols are no strangers to Bollywood, and now it seems like Sunny Deol’s son Karan has joined the industry as well. The young Deol is already working as an assistant director to Sangeeth Sivan, and has even lent his voice to one of the songs in the film.
The soundtrack of the second installment of the Deols’ 2011 hit Yamla Pagla Deewana includes the number. “There is an interesting song, which I can’t really speak about at length right now. My son sings, writes lyrics and he has been rapping too, so I asked him to contribute. He has written a part of the song and has sung it as well,” says Sunny, who has also sung a line in the track with brother Bobby.
The concerned father is sure that Karan, 17, has a lot to learn, and has just started introducing him to every aspect of filmmaking before he launches him. “We are going to launch him soon, so we want him to be comfortable before that,” says Sunny.
Giving a sneak preview of the song, he says, “It’s a number for 99 per cent of the people who identify with papa (Dharmendra), in that they want to dance but can’t do it very well. Everyone can’t be Hrithik Roshan.” The song featuring Sunny, Bobby and Dharmendra is likely to be choreographed by Remo D’Souza. “I think he is one of the few choreographers who is also a successful director,” says Sunny Deol.
