Race 2 Collect 100 crores mark worldwid


Last week's release Race 2 starring Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham and Anil Kapoor in leads, has crossed Rs 100 crores mark at the worldwide Box Office. The Abbas-Mastan-directed action thriller was expected to surpass this benchmark in the first week of its release. But it has taken a day extra and successfully achieved this magic figure on its second Friday at the global business centres.

Race 2 debuted with superb response across the globe. The action thriller collected Rs 51.35 crores nett in Indiaand Rs 17.26 crores nett ($ 3.2 million) from its screening in the USA, UK, UAE, Australia and New Zealand, taking its worldwide total to Rs 68.61 in the first weekend. It needed Rs 31.4 crores to cross Rs 100 crore mark. Trade analyst had felt that even if its business dropped by 50% on the weekdays, the film would easily surpass this mark in the first week.

But Race 2 witnessed 55% to 60% decrease in the collection at the worldwide Box Office on the weekdays, thereby proving trade experts' predictions false. The movie collected Rs 24.75 crores nett at Indian Box Office and Rs 5.35 crore at the international Box Office on the weekdays, taking its first week global total to Rs 98.71 crores nett.

Race 2 collected a total of Rs 76.10 crores nett in India and Rs 22.61 crores nett ($ 4.25 million) in the international market in the first week. However, the film collected Rs 3.5 crores at the Indian Box Office, taking its global collection beyond Rs 100 crores nett. Its total stands at Rs 102.21 crores.
