The sixth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to get glam this year. A star studded opening – with names like Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif is sure to set temperatures soaring this time around. And that’s not where all the excitement ends… News has it that international pop sensation Jennifer Lopez is all set to pay a visit to India to perform at the ceremony!
The shorter format of Cricket has always had remarkable Bollywood presence since its very inception. Many of the Tinsel Town inhabitants own major stakes in the participating teams.
The opening ceremony this year, on April 2, will see a meteor shower on the stage. IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla has been quoted as saying, “The Opening Ceremony of the Pepsi IPL 2013 will be one of the most spectacular events ever witnessed, in keeping with what will follow in the tournament itself, over the following seven weeks.”
Shah Rukh Khan and Juhi Chawla’s Kolkata Knight Riders clinched the IPL 5 trophy last year and the ecstasy of the victory had made King Khan go cartwheels on the ground… This time around too, we hope stars make their presence felt on the cricket stadiums!
