Shahrukh and Saif pulled a lot of legs at Filmfare Awards
They may not have pulled off the eye-popping shtick like appearing on stage in towels and facepack, but Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan did rekindle their old chemistry and pulled a lot of legs while hosting the 58th Idea Filmfare Awards in Mumbai.
When Shahrukh took the stage, he braggingly announced that he had packed Saif and Kareena off to their honeymoon because he (SRK) wanted to hog the show as the host. He even joked about Kareena Kapoor’s new name “Kareena Kapoor Khan Pataudi, kaafi lamba naam ho gaya hai na!”
Lest there be any misgivings among the audiences, Shahrukh Khan and Saif Ali Khan announced that they are back with their “cheap jokes”.
Saif didn’t waste much time to give a sampling. Talking about how screen mothers have gone against their sons in films like Mother India and Deewar, Saif cracked the joke that his mother Sharmila Tagore too wanted to kill him after watching his box office turkey Agent Vinod
The duo didn’t even spare Shahrukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan co-star Katrina Kaif. When Saif wondered why Katrina couldn’t make time for Filmfare Awards, Shahrukh quipped, “she’s not nominated, na!”.
Saif Ali Khan, obviously in a fun mood, boogied with abandon when singer Usha Uthup gave an impromptu rendition of a song.
All in all, the two hosts made the Filmfare Awards a must-watch show when it airs on Sony Entertainment Television in the coming days.
