The filmmaker says that his daughter won’t work with him, unless she fits the role
When her debut film Student Of The Year was about to release, we had cornered Alia Bhatt and Karan Johar. While the former was elated to have bagged the opportunity to work with one of the most popular directors of B-town, the latter was very honest with his opinion. “My films are frivolous but Bhatt saab (Mahesh Bhatt) makes substantial cinema, so perhaps Alia would be more keen to continue her film journey from here onwards with her dad,” KJo had said.
But, contrary to Karan’s prediction, daddy Mahesh Bhatt is not very keen to work with his daughter. He maintained that that’s not how it works in the industry. Though he might have worked with his elder daughter Pooja in the past and has given us successful films like Daddy, Sadak and Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi mainly because Pooja suited the requirement of the role. But times have changed now.
“But now things have changed. I am no longer directing films. Other directors are working for us. We don’t make films to suit the career graphs of our children. They have to be on the driving seat themselves and figure out for themselves. But I am happy the way Alia’s career is shaping up. Now, I am introduced as Alia’s father and that makes me happy,” said Bhatt senior in a recent interview.
We don’t think the young babe should think too much about it. After all, she’s only 18-years-old and has a long way to go. Bhatt camp is her safety net, her trump card which she can always flash during desperate situations. Right Alia? Source Bollywoodlife
