'Himmatwala' Sunday Box Office Collection

Well, seems like the much awaited ' Himmatwala ' is not Himmatwala at all at the Box Office window. After a low opening day, the film witnessed huge drop on Saturday taking the two days total to around just 18 crore.

The film has received negative response from the audience. Even in the mass areas, the response is mostly below the mark. Multiplexes audience specially the youth has totally rejected the movie.

Now in this scenario, we are not expecting a jump on Sunday at all. Normally films are benefited by Sunday holiday but the negative word of mouth ( WOM ) will not allow Himmatwala to show growth at the ticket window.

As per early estimates, the Sunday collections will be around 8-10 crore taking the first weekend collections to 28-30 crore which is really a disappointment. The film will witness big drops on weekdays and the final verdict of the film might be a FLOP !

'Rangrezz' and 'Atma' 1st week (7 Days) Net Collection

Hindi movies Aatma and Rangrezz have disappointed their producers with a poor business at the Indian Box Office in the first week. They have landed in the second and third spots, respectively, while the old release Jolly LLB topped the collection chart. They are struggling to recover their production costs. Trade experts feel that they may not be able to do so because Himmatwala, which has hit the screens this Friday, will eat away their share. Aatma and Rangrezz are much-hyped movies of 2013. Trade experts had predicted that they would do fantastic collection at the Box Office, but they opened to poor response. While their producers were expecting them to show big jump, they did show upward trends over the weekend, but it was not upto the mark. The Bipasha Basu and Nawazuddin Siddiqui starrer collected Rs 1.50 crore at the domestic Box Office on the first day. It witnessed a small amount of growth on Saturday and Sunday. It collected Rs 5 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in first weekend. On the weekdays, Aatma added approximately Rs 3 crores to its first week domestic total Rs 8 crores. Whereas Rangrezz featuring Jackky Bhagnani and Priya Anand in leads, collected Rs 4 crores nett at the domestic Box Office in the opening weekend and on weekdays, the movie added Rs 2 crores to its seven-day collection Rs 6 crores nett. Trade experts opine that it will not recover its making cost.

'Big Boss 6' Babe Sana with Salman Khan on the set of 'Mental'

Model turned actress Sana was offered a role in a Salman film 'Mental', while she was on the reality show with Salman as her host.

Mental is a two-heroine film with Sana Khan and Daisy Shah, the team has begun shooting already.

Below you can see the pic of  Sana with her co-star Salman from the sets. She shared this picture of her along with her ‘Mental’ lead actor Salman Khan.

Pic shows Chirpy Sana's agitation for this flick and obviously its like a dream come true for her, she said
"I am very happy and super excited to work with Salman in 'Mental'. To work with a superstar like Salman is like a dream. I feel blessed and lucky,"

It looks like Chubby Sana has finally landed in a plum of Bollywood although she has to shed her few kilos before that to make the film catchy and fiery.

'Himmatwala' 2nd day Net and Gross Collection

Himmatwala collected 12 crore ( Official Collections ) on the opening day which is well below expectations as the film generated a lots of hype and was released on 3200 screens which is huge.
The critics response is very bad and similar negative response is coming from the audiences as well. The morning shows of Saturday are showing less occupancy as compared to Friday morning shows. Normally the evening shows of Saturday are good but we are not expecting a huge jump in the evening shows for Himmatwala because of the negative response.

The occupancy in the Single Screens is good but multiplexes are very poor. As per early estimates, the second day total box office collections of Himmatwala are expected to be around 11-13 crore. Unfortunately well below the mark.

Himmatwala Movie Public Review by moviezadda

'Himmatwala' first day gross and net Box Office collection

Finally the much awaited " Himmatwala " has hit the silver screen. There were lots of expectations from the movie as it has Ajay Devgn who is giving back to back 100 crore Blockbusters and Sajid Khan who is well known for Directing movies like Hey Baby and Housefull Series. The movie created much hype. Himmatwala has released on 3200 screens all across India which is the widest release for Ajay Devgn.

Earlier we predicted the opening day collections of Himmatwala to be around 13-16 crore looking at the size of the screens and hype but unfortunately the Friday morning shows are showing very poor occupancy specially in Big Cities whereas in Mass areas, the occupancy is still below Son Of Sardar.
Also the critics have rated the movie poorly. But still as it is a masala movie so we still expect something big from the mass areas. We are still waiting for the public response.
In this situation, the opening collections of Himmatwala seems to be around 10-12 crore which is below expectations. A Masala film featuring Ajay Devgn and released on 3200 screens deserves much more.

J.P Dutta: 'Border 2', 'Border 3', 'Border 4' will be soon in Theaters

Movie Moghul J.P. Dutta, whose last directorial venture was 2006 release ‘Umrao Jaan’, is all set to direct three back-to-back war films, all biopics on Param Vir Chakra winning war heroes.

The first war epic ‘Border 2’ will be set in the 1962 India-China war and would tell the story of Subedar Joginder Singh Sahnan who led a platoon against the Chinese aggressors.

Next will be ‘Border 3’, to be located in the 1965 India-Pak war and would focus on the valorous efforts of Abdul Hamid who went down fighting the enemy soldiers.

Then there is ‘Border 4’, which would focus on Second-Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who died fighting during the 1971 Bangladesh war.

Dutta, who has just returned from an extensive recce of the border areas where the three films would be shot, says he was deeply moved and impressed by the courage shown by the three soldiers.

"I wanted to make war films on the three major battles that India fought in 1962, 1965 and 1971. But I wanted to root these wars in specific heroes` lives. I chose the three Param Vir Chakra winners - each from the three wars."

The casting of the three heroes is on.

"During my recce I was amazed at how well `Border` is remembered to this day even though it came 16 years ago. I met soldiers and civilians who had seen it over and over again. They all wanted to know if I had more to say on the war front," said Dutta, whose 1997 war epic was a blockbuster.

For the last six years, the filmmaker has been busy researching and writing the three war sagas.

"It`s not easy to get details on the lives of these soldiers. We know how bravely they fought and that they won the Param Vir Chakras. But beyond that, all the biographical details had to be obtained from scratch. Permissions from the relevant departments of the Defence Ministry also took time. But now everything is in place," said the director.

"I`ve been away from the camera for long. Now it`s time to shoot three back-to-back films," said the director whose desert epics ‘Ghulami’, ‘Batwara’ and ‘Refugee’ occupy a pride of place with his war epic "Border".

King of South Rajinikanth completed dubbing for 'Kochadaiyaan'

Rajinikanth has started dubbing for his upcoming Tamil period-drama 'Kochadaiyaan' and the work pace of the southern superstar has amazed Oscar-winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty.

Directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya, 'Kochadaiyaan' is India's first motion-capture film, made along the lines of 'Tin Tin' and 'Avatar'. The film also features R. Sarath Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Aadi Pinisetty, Shobana, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Jackie Shroff and Nasser.

"Rajini sir began dubbing for the film yesterday (Wednesday). He has already completed the first half and is likely to complete the rest in a day or two," a source from the film's until told IANS.

Meanwhile the rest of the crew is busy with post-production work in China.

Pookutty is working with the superstar closely for dubbing.

"It's unbelievable, his dedication and commitment to work. He finished the first half dubbing in a day," posted Pookutty on his Twitter page.

Soundarya headed off to China earlier this month to begin work on the post-production for the film, which is likely to hit theatres this summer.

Jointly produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment, the film has music by A.R Rahman.

Himmatwala is not a remake, it is a rewrite Movie

"Himmatwala is one of my top five favourite Bollywood films. I am very fortunate that my name is associated with the movie. The film is a rewrite, and not a remake, based on the original film. The essence of the original film is there in my version, but my treatment is completely different", he said.
Sajid said though he made some changes in the original avatar of 'Himmatwala', he also carried forward the boisterous melodrama typical of 1980s in the new version.
"The scenes and the characters in my version of the film are completely different. I have added some nuances like slightly over-the-top acting, typical filmy scenes between mother and son which today's youths wouldn't have experienced", Sajid said.

Himmatwala is not a remake

"There is also 'Saas Bahu' kind of drama something which I have attempted for the first time. I am sure the makers of the 1983 musical blockbuster will also enjoy my film", he said.

Sajid said he wanted to recreate the magic of 80s on silver screen again and hence decided to make this film.

"These kinds of films were prevalent only during the 80's. There was over-the-top heroism, the protective brother, a mother giving fiery dialogues to the villain. These kinds of films haven't been made in many years. We don't see such kind of scenes. That is why I decided to make this film", the director said.

When asked if the audience was willing to enter the groove of the bygone era, Sajid quipped that the melodrama has been kept alive by Ekta Kapoor.

"Thanks to Ekta Kapoor. The melodrama has still been alive. The only thing is that it has moved from films to television. I am sure it will work in our films if it is rightly shown", he said.

Sajid said film-making is an art of narration. "Hindi films are all about storytelling. Arguably the greatest living director today is Rajkumar Hirani. His storytelling is so simple. Films like Kahaani or Vicky Donor were simply all about storytelling", he added.

Secrets behind Lindsay Lohan’s `twin red triangles` tattoo revealed

New York: Lindsay Lohan’s most recent tattoo, which is the images of twin red triangles and the Shakespearean quote- “What Dreams May Come” - simultaneously inked with her close friend Liam McMullan, is apparently a symbol of “the deep spiritual bond” they share.

A source told the New York Post that the duo got matching tattoos in a private, secret, spiritual ceremony late last year by artist Jerami Goodwin, New York Post reported.

The source said that the triangles represent danger and hazards, and the two spiritual energies inside each other.

The source added that it represents their souls and hearts, and the dangers out there, and that they must follow their dreams.

Lohan, due to report to rehab, unveiled her tattoo in court back in January.

Himmatwala Movie's Review

Himmatwala Review by Bollywood Karma critic Joginder Tuteja.
When the remake of Himmatwala was announced there were obvious questions around how the film would be presented in the current times. After all, the Jeetendra starrer was a melodramatic affair and for audience of today, it may have been difficult to digest the proceedings in as-is format. However, since it was said that the film would be presented in a new avtar to cater to today’s audience, there were expectations of something really interesting in the offering. As it turns out though, a major part of it is very similar to the original. Also, it catches your attention on and off, not in entirety.
Himmatwala Reviews

Let’s face it, the very core of Himmatwala isn’t really striking enough to make you expect anything extraordinary. A son (Ajay Devgan) taking on the village lord (Mahesh Manjrekar) since he has scores to settle for death of his father and poor state of his mother (Zarina Wahab) and sister is a storyline that was explored multiple times in the 80s. Of course this is where the treatment comes into picture. The 80s version did work but in the current times, one would have expected something really strikin
This is where Sajid Khan brings in certain elements as well which do aim at bettering the original. One such element is the tiger track which is indeed woven well in the film. Whether it is the first sequence where Ajay takes the tiger heads on or later when latter comes back on the scene,  there are moments of genuine thrills. The fight sequence in the truck, where Ajay beats the pulp out of a goon, is executed well too. Also, the last 20 minutes of the film where Zareena Wahab indulges in some dialoguebaazi works as well, more so due to the fact that it makes you feel nostalgic about films of yore.
However, and as stated earlier, this by itself isn’t really something that holds the entire film together. This is because as a core storyline, Himmatwala doesn’t have much to offer. The plots around Ajay’s sister being tortured and later Tamannaah coming to Ajay’s rescue don’t really engage. The dramatic quotient isn’t as striking either while the flashback sequence is ordinary. Yes, Sajid Khan thankfully does eliminate a couple of sub plots centred on a deaf-n-villager (which was quite loose in the original as well) as well as a relative who intends to marry the heroine. However from the add-on perspective, he is further limited by the distance he can cover due to an ordinary core base of the film.
Thankfully Kadar Khan’s track from the original is very well brought back on scene with Paresh Rawal not just emulating the character but also the actor himself. Watch out for the way he communicates with the camera, a la Kadar Khan; it is truly nostalgia from the 80s. Moreover, his dialogues should find good acceptance from the masses. Mahesh Manjrekar does play to the gallery though one misses the occassional menace that Amjad Khan brought in the original. Adhyayan Suman, who reprises Shakti Kapoor’s part, is okay and so are the other supporting actors.
As the actor in and as Himmatwala, Ajay looks the part and going by the theme, is convincing as the character. He bashes up the goons, teases the heroine and also indulges in comedy. The part doesn’t require him to turn overtly intense though. Tamannaah is decent though one waits to see how she performs in a character that comes with more meat. She is a good dancer and that is an added plus. Music goes well with the film’s narrative.
Overall, Himmatwala is a film that could have done better with newer elements added to the overall narrative. With more than just the core of the original being retained, there was as much distance as the film could have travelled.

Go Goa Gone Movie Trailer: Saif Ali Khan Plays a Zombie Hunter

Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Go Goa Gone’, directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, is all set to release on May 10, 2013. The film which also stars Kunal Khemu, Vir Das, Anand Tiwary and Puja Gupta will see the Nawab play a zombie hunter mouthing desi expletives!

The makers of the film - Illuminati Films and Eros International - have decided to push the envelope for Indian cinema, which will see Saif in a never-seen-before avatar.

Talking about his character Boris, Saif said, “I loved Boris from the first time I discovered him. He is tough and cool, but also very funny. He has a good heart and is brave. The dynamics between him and the boys is hysterical. I was very excited to play Boris the zombie hunter and even happier to produce this film.”

Dinesh Vijan, producer, Illuminati Films explains, “There hasn’t been a character like Boris or a concept like this on Indian screens. This is exactly what got us excited to make this film. The zombies will keep you on the edge of your seat and the humour will make you fall of it - making it a zombie comedy… a ZOM-COM! Hopefully it`ll be a genre defining film for us.”

‘Go Goa Gone’ promises to be an unusual mixture of comedy, slick action and zombies.

Here’s the trailer of the paradoxical ‘fearful comedy’ film for you:

It was Aamir or a Child on the Set of Dhoom 3 ?

Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who is working alongside Aamir Khan in his upcoming film 'Dhoom 3', says the star is like a child on the sets of the movie.

Bachchan is reprising his role of ACP Jai Dixit for the third time in the action franchise while Aamir plays the main antagonist.

"It's absolutely brilliant to be working with Aamir. You get to learn so much. He is so much fun on the sets. He is like a child on the set, he is so involved and enthusiastic about everything," Bachchan told reporters.

When asked about his equation with Aamir during the shooting, Bachchan, 37 said, "I think every actor learns from other. As an actor you feed off the energies of each-other. I see my father still learning from a lot more junior actors than him. So I think as an actor you learn from everybody and you should."

Bachchan said it was a challenge to play the same character thrice as he had to add new elements.

"The challenge is how do you repackage that same character and make it as interesting as possible. You can't allow the audiences to say 'Oh we have seen this earlier'."

Bachchan does not find it boring to reprise his character again and again. He said he enjoyed the fun that Jai Dixit and Ali (Uday Chopra) have together in the film.

He is reuniting with Abraham for the sequel of 'Dostana' which will have a new leading lady.

Ajay Devgn Unhappy with Eid Clash b/w Chennai Express and OUATIM 2

It is a well known fact that Ajay Devgn films filed a legal case against Yash Raj Production house during last year's Diwali. Now almost similar issue is on the cards with the Eid releases. 'UTV Motion Pictures' who are distributing 'Himmatwala' are planning to sign a contract with the exhibitors to block the similar number screens for their Eid release 'Chennai Express'. On the other hand OUATIMA producers Balaji Motion Pictures have blocked the Eid release almost 9 months back in advance. Ajay Devgn is related to both the movies in a unique way. Devgn was the lead actor in the first movie OUATIM and its success helped to develop the franchise. On the other hand, 'Chennai Express' is directed by Rohit Shetty. Rohit is like a family to Ajay and this is the first movie of Rohit Shetty without Ajay Devgan. He had earlier directed hits like Golmaal series, All The Best and Singham with Ajay.

YRF films had a contract with exhibitors along with the release of 2012 blockbuster 'Ek Tha Tiger'. They blocked all the screens where 'Ek Tha Tiger' was released for their Diwali release 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'. That left Ajay's movie 'Son Of Sardar' with very less screens and hence his production house went into a legal tussle with YRF. Eventually, Ajay managed some regional screens and got a good release for his movie. Both the Diwali releases were declared hits at the box office.

Box Office: A Huge Opening of 'Croods' with $45 Million

UPDATED: Overseas, "Croods" opens to $63.3 million for $108 million worldwide; elsewhere in North America, the Tina Fey-Paul Rudd specialty comedy "Admission" opens to soft $6.4 million, and "Spring Breakers" expands nationwide to gross a decent $5 million.

A bumbling prehistoric family and a terrorist takeover of the White House galvanized weekend moviegoers as new entries The Croods and Olympus Has Fallen took the top two spots at the North American box office.

Croods opened to a solid $44.7 million from 4,406 theaters after receiving a pleasing A CinemaScore. That's welcome news for Jeffrey Katzenberg's DreamWorks Animation, whose previous film Rise of the Guardians was a box-office dud.

Overseas, Croods opened to $63.3 million from 47 markets for a total global bow of $108 million. The international figure includes roughly $17 million in previews from last weekend. Croods did especially well in Russia and key Latin American markets, including Mexico and Brazil, where it scored the top opening of all time for an original animated pic.
